About Me

Who I Am:

Hi Everyone! I”m Shaun. I’ve been into computers and their workings since I was a child. Once upon a time, I was a Java developer in the Air Force, but now mostly I just do super fun IT work for a bank. It’s a grand ol’ time.

My purpose behind this site is to just chronicle my misadventures as I learn to develop a little indie game project. I have a couple of different books and sites that I will be referencing from time to time. What I’m hoping to create is a place where people who might be a little overwhelmed can go to learn from my travels in the indie development world. I’m not really looking to make money or anything here. I just want to have a good time and share my experiences with others!

Here is my current resources:

The Black Art of Multiplatform Game Programming by Jazon Yamamoto
Unity 4.x Game Programming by Example, Beginner’s Guide by Ryan Creighton
r/Gamedev community on Reddit

Here are the tools I’m currently employing:

Code::Blocks with MinGW compliler
Simple DirectMedia Layer library (SDL)
GIMP 2.0
Unity 4.3

And Finally, My Glorious Mug:

Yeah, it's me.

Stare long enough into the abyss, and sooner or later it will stare right back at you
